Board of Trustees By-Election
Nominations are invited for the election of 3 parent representatives to the Board of Trustees. A nomination form and a copy of this notice will be posted to all eligible voters. Additional nomination forms can be obtained from the school office. The voting roll is open for inspection at the school and can be viewed at the office during normal school hours from Monday 13 March.
The Electoral Roll closes at noon on Wednesday 22 February 2012.
The Supplementary Roll closes at noon on Wednesday 7 March 2012.

Nominations close at noon on Friday 9 March 2012 and may be accompanied by a candidate’s statement. There will also be a list of candidates’ names, as they come to hand, for inspection at the school.
Voting papers are posted between 9 -14 March 2012.
The poll closes at noon on Friday 23 March 2012.
The Board of Trustees comprises five parent representatives elected by parents of the school, a staff representative elected by the staff, and the principal. The board is elected every three years to undertake the governance of the school. The current board was elected in May 2010.

Board responsibilities include:
- Maintaining the school Charter, goals and strategic plan.
- Establishing policies that guide the management of the school.
- Staff appointments and development.
- Building and ground management.
- Finance / budget management.
- Consultation with and reporting to the community.
- Health and safety management within the school.
Board meetings are held every six weeks at 7.15pm in the school staffroom. All meetings are open to the public, and parents are always welcome. Meeting dates can be found on the school calendar and are advertised in the school newsletter.
A copy of the ‘Standing Orders’ and board minutes from the latest meeting are able to be viewed in the school foyer.
